Imran Khan and Aamir khan
“I Hate Luv Storys” is a box office hit but the movie is creating a rift between relatives Aamir and Imran. it seems. According to the latest buzz, Imran is really upset about the fact that Aamir did not like his latest flick, also starring Sonam Kapoor.

Aamir was heard saying, “Imran, you`re lucky!” and that’s what irked Imran even more as he didn’t take the remark in good fortitude.

Imran retorted, “It’s not luck, maamu. We all have worked very hard on the movie.”

Imran added, “Criticism runs in our blood. So a postmortem of every movie we do is a must. I’m sure if maamu has seen the whole film, he’ll have a few more things to tell me – all negative! But that’s just maamu for you”.

Imran Khan became a bollywood sensation with “Janne Tu Ya Jaane Naa”. Now he is returning to the genre with “I hate luv storys”, which is a parody of all things Bollywood.  The actor says that the film does not take a condescending look at Bollywood, instead the laughters come from the fact that everyone loves the much derided cliches.

“IHLS is a self parody and we are not shying away from admitting that. See, the fact is that there is a tendency amongst a lot of people in the industry to say that the song and dance routine is passe. It is something that I have never understood,” the actor said.

The movie is a Karan Johar production and it sees Imran pair up with Sonam Kapoor whos plays a die hard movie romantic.

The promos show the movie making an blatant statement about the song, dance, mush and romance in Bollywood movies.

“We are making films for the Indian industry so why not just make it the way everyone loves them? If we are making Hindi films with all the songs and dances then why be apologetic? We should be proud of what we are doing and only aspire to do something better. Let’s work further on getting some more amazing music and amazing dance numbers but let’s not do away with them please,” Imran said.

Sonam Kapoor is a Romantic

Published: May 14, 2010 by admin Filed under: Exclusives Gossip & Rumors

Sonam Kapoor is romantic
Sonam Kapoor is a romantic, she has seen Aditya Chopra’s Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge at least 20 times and says she will not tire if she has to see it another 20 times over. “It is one of my most favourite films. The chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol is amazing. I just love them.’’ She also confesses, “I’m the world’s biggest mush queen with a voracious appetite for love stories.”

“It’s a fabulous film,’’ she says. “And, it has me playing me. I’m playing Simran who advocates love stories, whereas Imran Khan is Jay, and he’s a cynic. Of course, everyone knows that opposites attract and that is what happens in our case.’’

Sonam adds, “I loved working with Karan Johar. He is one guy who treats me like an individual. He knows my dad, Anil Kapoor, but when he approached me to play the lead in his film, he spoke to me like an independent person who makes her own decisions.’’

Dharma Productions, says Sonam, spoils its actors. “I was pampered by everyone from director Punit to Karan,  I personally like guys who have a great sense of humour, are well brought up, and have a good body. I like the concept of tall, dark and handsome. Imran may not fit the bill in every sense, however, we have great screen chemistry. He is a super talented actor and kept me on my toes as an actress.’’
