The film’s Hindi version will be directed by Srijit Mukherjee, who also directed the Bengali version. And as expected SRK is averse to play the role of a fading superstar. Wonder if, it would mirror his real life a little too much?

The film will be produced by Madhu Mantena. Madhu said, “I think the era of remakes from regional languages into Hindi is back. We just need to make sure the regional flavour is not lost in Hindi. Ghajini was a smash-hit Tamil to Hindi remake. I am talking to at least five major Tamil-Telugu blockbuster directors about making their own films in Hindi.”

Even though Salman’s entire clan was present at a special screening of “Anjaana Anjaani”, the actor stayed away on the pretext of prior professional engagements. However, insiders state that Salman is much too annoyed with the daily gossip about Ranbir taking a close interest in Katrina.

What has made matters worse is the recent interview by Deepika Padukone, who hinted that Ranbir had cheated on her with one of his co-stars. And going by the buzz, it was none other than Katrina Kaif who had caused a rift in Ranbir and Dips’ love abode.

A source said, “Though Salman is very close to producer Sajid Nadiadwala, in this case, friendship was far exceeded by his anger at the rumours linking Katrina with Ranbir. So while Salman was happy that Sajid could release his film in spite of the political stress, he chose to stay away.”

Asked if he has been offered a movie, he said: “Nothing has been offered to me. I don’t think people in the right senses would offer me a romantic movie with Bebo (Kareena’s pet name). But yes, if there’s a movie on cousins, I would love to act with her.” Kareena too has shown keen interest in working with Ranbir.

Ranbir says he would have loved to work with Madhuri Dixit, but “unfortunately she retired”. “I also haven’t worked with so many actresses like Genelia and even Sonakshi. I want to work with all of them,” he added.
