Ranbir is starring in Imtiaz Ali’s Rock Star. He has learned to play the guitar for this role. And Ranbir is all set to perform live for the film. Apparently, one reason why Saif had initially been selected for the role of the Rock Star was his proficiency on the guitar. (Saif had played with the band Parikrama and knew how to play live on stage).

Now Ranbir is going to be playing in front a live audience for the film The idea is to fill up the audience with youngsters who are fans of rock music for a ‘Ranbir Kapoor Concert’ backed by a full band.

The Kajol – Kareena starrer “We Are Family” is ready for release during Eid in September. Publicity king Karan Johar is already planning for the films promotions. However, Kajol is expecting her second child, which will mean that she will not be part of the promotional campaign.

Which is why Kareena has taken upon herself to promote the movie-in her absence- and she has already allotted a chunk of her dates for the same. Siddharth Malhotra, the director said, “The film is definitely releasing on Eid. It is everybody’s film and the entire cast will be available whenever they can. But it would be too much if we expect Kajol to travel everywhere”.

Kajol is not the one to be left behind, Kajol has decided to pre-record as many interviews as possible which will be used later. Karan says, “Kajol, Kareena and I had a ball doing the stuff for We are Family. We were all very careful about Kajol’s condition. Kajol too was very careful about what she could and couldn’t do. To expect her to plunge into the film’s publicity just before its release would’ve been impractical and unreal. September 10 - when the film releases - is too close to her delivery day.”

Rakesh Roshan is definitely on his way to plan a sequel. Not of his last box office disaster “Kites” but of his superhit from 2006 Krrish. Though reports had earlier stated that Roshan Sr. had dropped the idea of Krrish 2 after the release of the visually spellbinding Hollywood movie Avatar. But now reports say that it has got the green signal.

And Papa Roshan is leaving no stones unturned to make sure that this movie turns out to be a great hit and wipes out the embarrassment of Kites. Known to give a free hand to his writers with minimal interference, this time Rakesh is being very cautious as his son’s as well as his production company Filmkraft’s future is at stake.

Hrithik is busy shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara, his dad is working non-stop on Krrish2. The basic story of the sequel has apparently been fixed so the details are now been worked upon. Also, Deepika Padukone (who had refused Kites because of the intimate scenes) may be playing the female lead in the film.

There is a growing rumor that Kareena Kapoor will be teaming up with todays poster boy Imran Khan. Bollywood is always happy when they get another star pair to market. Yes, these very good-looking actors have been signed by Karan Johar for his Short Term Shaadi, a film that is reportedly on the lines of the Cameron Diaz-Ashton Kutcher romcom What Happened in Vegas.

A source says that the film is likely to go on the floors in the month of November 2010.

While Imran said, “I’m not at liberty to discuss anything about the film right now.” Kareena too has been vowed to secrecy by the creative team. However, it is being said that Karan has reportedly asked Bebo to lose weight again. BT managed to get some inside details. A source said, “It is ironical. Kareena had just started eating to look slightly rounded because her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan is tired of her looking like a clothes hanger.”

The actress herself had confessed, “Saif likes my butt,” and got a lot of rebuttal from the press for “talking like that”. So she had immediately backed off. But the bottom line is Bebo had actually altered her diet. She was eating well and just when she was sinking her teeth into more wholesome food, news comes that Karan wants her to get back to being size zero.

Deepika Padukone has found a friend for life in her co-star from “Lafange Parindey” actor Neil Nitin Mukeh. Neil once went out of his way to put Deepika’s makeup for an accident scene.

‘I think I have made a friend for life and I think that’s what I cherished the most because he is a wonderful human being and that comes across on screen. We got along really well,’ said Deepika.

‘There is an accident scene, where I need a different kind of make-up and he is trained in it so he told dada (Pradeep Sarkar) that he will do my make-up and he did. Another day where I was doing…not exactly an action sequence, but lot of cable work and all of that, he choreographed the entire act. So I think in every way he was there for me,’ said Deepika.

The movie is set in the mean streets of Mumbai city. It is a love story where Neil Nitin Mukesh plays the character of Nandu, a fighter who pummels his opponents in the ring and Deepika Padukone plays Pinky Palkar, a dancer who is blind but ambitious and dances with roller skates on her feet.

Neil used to be around Deepika, even on his off days. ‘I can confidently say that he has been the most supportive and encouraging co-star, with whom I have worked so far. Even on days when he was not required, he would be there,’ said Deepika.

‘I think he is ready to direct. We keep thinking that he is new, we saw him in three-four films, but I think in terms of experience and his knowledge where cinema is concerned, I think he is technically very sound and he is ready to direct a film,’ said Deepika.
